Pu'erh

This USDA organic pu’erh from the Yunnan province in China has an earthy, distinct aroma with a very dark liquor. As a cooked (shu) pu’erh it is aged in specially designed caves or climate controlled rooms during and after undergoing a ‘composting ‘ procedure (of only tea leaves) through which helpful bacteria growth is encouraged by introducing moisture to drying piles of tea leaves that are regularly turned and tended. In China pu’erh is often served as a ‘shot’ right after a full meal to help metabolize a plethora of foods. It is good remedy for bloating or to soothe an upset stomach.
